VRE graph from Ride magazine, October 2014

Steve’s Hall of Shame:* What the L?

If passengers didn’t have any concerns before reading this graph that appeared in the Virginia Railway Express Ride magazine, October 2014, this chart should be enough to make them worry.

There are 11 colored bars on the chart, but (at most) seven labels on the vertical axis. One says only “L”; maybe that’s supposed to be a label by itself, or maybe it’s supposed to be part of another label.

For about 8% of passengers, their number-one concern is that they don’t have any concerns. I’m worried about that too.

Don’t let this happen to you. Read and examine graphics before committing them to print or posting them online.

* “Steve’s Hall of Shame” is what one writer called my collection of bloopers. I decided to keep the name.
